Update on Wally
Hi everyone,
I just now got off the phone speaking with Cheryl. She sounds very hopeful
and strong.
I asked Cheryl if she would like me to send an email out that could be
forwarded around the industry and friends. She gave me this message:
Wednesday night Wally came home from work and was tired. Did not eat dinner.
Woke up at 1 am and was hungry so went to have a piece of pizza. He went
back to bed and felt funny, and then his legs went numb and he heard a
pop. . . he thought it was his appendix. Cheryl called 911 right away.
It was not a heart attack. His condition is called an Aortic Dissection.
There is lots of information on-line to check this out.
The Doctors figure he had an infection at some point in his life that left the
area weak and with over exertion, coupled with high blood pressure and
stress that Wally was a prime candidate for this to happen. The 11 hour surgery went
well, though he did lose a kidney and they have not determined the health
of his other kidney. They are not concerned about that at this point. They
are keeping Wally sedated as he was becoming too agitated and anxious.
Cheryl said the Doctors have said that he knows when people are in the room and
can respond to squeezing his hand.
Cheryl also said the Doctors have told her that Wally has lots of things on his
side for a good recovery. His age and his strength are both on his side,
plus she said that she and Wally prayed together before his surgery and said
that Wally’s belief in God will help them through this.
Say a little prayer for them

For what it is worth, an explaintion…
We are all upset about the race weekend being cancelled. There are a few out their that feel this would have never happened if only they were in charge, but, until they are willing to help we can only do the best we can.
Friday afternoon we were out at the track, on the doser. Water and mud everywhere and the rain was not letting up. Even though the weather looked promising for Saturday, there was no way the track was going to recover in time for a Saturday practise. We cancelled Saturday practise late Friday night and made the announcement the best we could. I was at the track Saturday morning, 7am, to appoligize to anyone who did not get the message. The track on Saturday was way to muddy, cancelling was a good call. Around 8am, I was informed that we were double booked for the weekend with another club that rented the road course around the MX track. After some discussion, it was obvious that any further discussion would be pointless. The other club paid almost 5x the rent we pay. The drag guys did apologize and assured me that they were not aware of the error. On their schedule, MX finished end of September. For the well being of the track, we need to accept these things and move on until we are willing to pay enough to be considered.
Thanks for your understanding
Hans Wegener
